Hi, my name is Lisa and I’m a chocoholic…
To say I’m an addict is an understatement. I LOVE chocolate and if stranded on a deserted island, yep, the one thing I’d want with me is my beloved chocolate.
Since I need my daily fix, how can I not include one of my all time favorite desserts to finish off the previously posted Valentines dinner menu.
So, here we go…this warm, gooey, chocolately goodness isn’t just easy, it’s SINFUL! (Looks impressive too – BONUS!)
Molten Chocolate Cakes
(Makes 4 individual size cakes)
4 squares Baker’s Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate
1/2 cup butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
6 Tbsp. flour
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to finish (optional)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Butter 4 (3/4 cup) custard cups or souffle dishes. Place on a cookie sheet.
Microwave chocolate and butter in large bowl on high, stirring with wire whisk every 30 seconds until completely melted. (DO NOT OVER COOK – Will burn!)
Whisk in eggs and egg yolks. Stir in flour and powdered sugar. Divide batter between custard cups.
Bake 13-14 minutes or until sides are firm but centers are soft. Let stand 1 minute. Run small knife around cakes to loosen. Invert cakes onto dessert dishes. Serve immediately and top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
*Make ahead! – batter can be made a day ahead. Pour into buttered custard cups. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Bake as directed above.
